What do you guys think about the Google Nexus 10 Tablet? What will it be priced at? Who is going to make it? Voice your thoughts in the comments section.
I personally think...
Manufacturer:
Sony- Sony has a past of making beautiful tablets and phones. Google wants a quality tablet both inside and out.
Price:
To get big sales, Google needs to keep the price low. However, I think the plan with the Nexus 7 was to price it so cheap, people felt they had to buy it. Now that more people have already invested into the Android ecosystem, they can start making a profit off of their devices.
Google Nexus 10 16GBs- $350
Google Nexus 10 32GBs- $400
Extras:
Like the Nexus 7, I don't think the Nexus 10 will have HMDI output or an SD card, which will be a major disappointment.
The official N7 case is a mind boggling $20
not including shipping and tax. You can
buy a halfway decent case on Amazon for $7 shipped. I feel like Google wanted to try to make some
extra cash on the case, instead of the actual tablet.
2.Product Quality & Overal Feel-
This case feels like it costed less
than $5 to produce. The rubbery cheapy
feel doesn’t help me think any better of it.
The front flap is very flimsy and “flappy”, if you were to walk around
with it, it would be all over the place.
That isn’t what you expect from Google and Asus.
3.Smart Cover-
My main concern is that this doesn’t
have a “Smart Cover” feature implemented into it. Most Amazon cases that cost more than $10
have a smart cover feature implemented into it.
A Smart Cover feature would have most definitely have helped with the
flappy front cover.
4.Protection-
The Official Nexus 7 Case provides
little to not at all protection of the Nexus 7.
If you dropped a “naked” Nexus 7 from five feet and a Nexus 7 armed with
the official case, I don’t think there would be much of a difference. I would still be worried walking around Times
Square with the Nexus 7 in my hand.
5.Lack of Selection-
The only colors availible at this
point for the Nexus 7 case are “dark grey”.
No one wants to put their Nexus 7 into a dark grey case. Luckily, Asus is coming out with colored cases,
but why wait so long to release them? In
my mind, the lack of selection and choices is a huge issue regarding this case.
Three Reasons Why You Should Purchase The Official Nexus 7
Case
1.Slim Profile-
The N7 is one of the thinnest lightest
tablets on the market. You don’t want to
purchase a big bulky folio that makes the N7 as big as a dictionary. The official case is as slim as a
hundred-page book.
2.The Google Factor-
Google and Asus had a vision about
a case that would broadcast a message, “GOOGLE and ASUS”. A lot of people like to have brand name
accessories from the same company they purchased the device from.
3.Made For The Nexus 7-
A lot of cases out right now aren’t made for the
Nexus 7. Many are just Kindle Fire or
Galaxy Tab cases, which means some buttons aren’t easily accessible. With the official Nexus 7 case you know all
button ports are accessible and you don’t have the hassle of dealing with a
company
